The care of Product
- DETERGENT
Minimoo recommends that its customers use a good hypoallergenic detergent to protect children's skin.
We also recommends avoiding bleach when cleaning textile products, because if the garment isn't thoroughly rinsed, bleach can irritate children's skin.
- CARING FOR FINE FABRICS
Linen
Linen is a delicate, high-quality natural fabric known for its tendency to wrinkle easily. To restore linen garments to their original shape, use a hot steam iron. Minimoo recommends ironing linen clothing inside out to preserve its appearance. Additionally, we recommend air drying all linen textile products. Please note that this product should never be tumble-dried.
Viscose
Viscose is a synthetic fiber known for its susceptibility to wrinkles. For best care, Minimoo recommends hand-washing viscose in cold or warm water using a specialized hand-washing detergent. After washing, air drying is recommended for all viscose textile products, followed by ironing with a steam iron to restore their original appearance. Please note that this product should never be tumble-dried.
Silk
Silk is a delicate, high-quality natural fiber that demands special care. When handling silk, it's essential to check the garment's tag to ensure it doesn't specify 'Dry clean only.' If the tag indicates 'professional dry clean only,' professional wet cleaning is not permitted.
Wool
Wool is a delicate, high-quality natural fiber that demands special care. For all wool items, Minimoo recommends using a gentle wool cycle when washing. It's important to iron these items after washing to restore their original appearance. When washing wool, use a specialized 'wool' detergent. In case you don't have a wool detergent, you can use a mild, pH-neutral soap or diluted baby shampoo. For greasy stains, you can use talc or cornstarch in addition to your detergent. Minimoo suggests air drying as the preferred method for all wool textile products.
To keep wool from pilling, it is best to use a pill remover or razor blade.
Cashmere
Cashmere is a delicate, high-quality fabric, and Minimoo carefully selects the finest fibers for its cashmere items. To preserve their original softness and appearance, Minimoo recommends machine washing cashmere with a special wool detergent. Use the 'delicate wool cycle' with a temperature between 20°C and 30°C and a spin cycle of no more than 600 rotations per minute. There's no need to add fabric softener; cashmere naturally retains its softness after washing. Hand washing is also an option, following the same machine washing instructions. Avoid wringing the garment. Cashmere items should be laid flat to air dry. Keep them away from direct sunlight and heat sources to maintain their original shape and color. If wrinkled, cashmere items can be ironed on low heat.
What's the best way to remove pills?
Cashmere sweaters may pill. Pills can be removed either:
● By hand
● With tweezers
● With a pill remover
Jeans
For jeans without visible stains, Minimoo suggests washing them in cold water less frequently, typically at 30°C, to preserve the denim's original look. To avoid white threads and maintain the original wash, always wash jeans inside out. Minimoo jeans undergo a distinctive dyeing process to maintain their raw appearance, which may result in the release of residual dye, even after washing. To prevent dye transfer to other clothing, we recommend washing denim jeans separately, inside out, and at 30°C every time.
Down jackets
Washing down jackets requires specific techniques. Machine wash them inside out on a synthetics cycle at 30°C, and include tennis balls in the wash to aerate the down. For drying, use a synthetics dryer cycle with tennis balls to evenly distribute the down. Ensure the down is fully dry to prevent compact balls from forming inside the jacket. When washing this type of textile product, it's advisable to remove the hood before washing.
